I selected a faster shipping option, so why hasn't my order arrived?

Expedited shipping refers to the transit speed, not our warehouse processing time. The current processing time for orders is 1-2 business days, excluding holidays. Once an order has left our warehouse, the delivery speed will be based on the shipping option chosen at checkout.

My order was marked as delivered, but it's not here! What do I do?

If your order was marked as delivered but is not at your shipping address, we suggest first verifying the address on your order. If the shipping address is correct, check all possible points of delivery around your home, apartment, or office and see if someone else accepted the delivery. Use your UPS tracking number to contact UPS. Additionally, you can contact us at office@turkishtowelcompany.com and we will do our best to help you.

Do you offer coupon codes?

Yes, we have several coupon codes that we offer throughout the year. These codes are subject to change. In general, our coupon codes are not applicable to items already on sale (this includes discounted bundled products). Most codes are one-time use and cannot be combined. We cannot control codes that are found on the internet or discount code websites, which may be obsolete, outdated or incorrect.

Why isn't my promo code applying to my order?

At this time, we can only accept one promotion code per order. If your promo code is not working, it may be outdated or limited usage. Please note that promo codes cannot be used on items in our Clearance section or on any item that is on sale, and there may be pre-set restrictions.

If you’re still having trouble applying a promo code, feel free to reach out to us at office@turkishtowelcompany.com.

When is your next sale?

Typically, we have a January sale and July sale. However, throughout the year, we do offer seasonal sales, closeout sales and flash sales. The best way to stay updated is to join our newsletter.

What is the warranty on your products?

Quality is at the heart of who we are. All of our products are meticulously made with high quality fabrics. If a towel or robe fails due to a manufacturing defect, we will replace the product. If your towel rips, tears, frays, or anything else happens to it during normal use, you’re covered under our guarantee.

Please note: This guarantee does not cover any return needed due to accidents, improper care, change of mind on towel color or normal wear and tear.

What is the best way to care for my towels or robe?

WASHING

  • Exposed to oil, soil, and germs; wash towels in warm water (around body temperature is best) with laundry detergent – but use a little less detergent than suggested. If the towels are white, they should occasionally be washed with about 1/4 cup of peroxide per load.
  • Cotton is a natural fiber and new towels will shed some loose fibers.
  • Avoid fabric softeners—they contain silicon that will make the towels water repellent. To soften them, use 1 cup of WHITE vinegar about every 6 weeks.  Run the towels through a regular washing cycle, then redo them with the vinegar instead of soap.  The reason towels aren’t soft is because they have soap left in them.

DRYING

While tumble drying will make the towel fluffy, do not overdo, as the heat from the dryer can damage the integrity of the cotton. We recommend using a lower heat setting occasionally or alternate between air and heat drying.

ABSORBENCY

To maximize the absorbency of a towel, add a cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle, about every six weeks, to restore the towel to full absorbency. The vinegar removes any excess detergent, which can affect the towels’ absorbency.

PULLED THREADS

As all our towels are woven, a pulled loop will not unravel the towel. If you catch the towel and pull a loop, cut off the pulled loop with a pair of scissors.

My towels are shedding, what do I do?

This is normal. Cotton is a natural fiber and will shed in the first few washes. You might want to start by first shaking the towels out vigorously. Then wash them before use with white vinegar or baking soda instead of soap. Tumble dry without dryer sheets (as these add a coating to the towels.)

How often should I wash my towels?

Towels are specifically designed to wick away moisture from the body. This porous, damp environment is a perfect breeding ground for bacteria, mold, yeast, and viruses. So, never leave your towels on the floor or lumped together, damp, on your towel rack. Make sure to hang them, unfolded, to dry between laundering.

American Cleaning Institute: Recommends hanging towels to dry between uses and washing after 3 to 5 normal uses.

Consumer Reports: Says to launder towels after 3 or 4 normal uses or more frequently if you play sports.

So, there you go – launder your towels after 3-5 uses.

What’s the difference between a bath towel and a bath sheet?

Here at the Turkish Towel Company, we are often asked about the difference between bath towels and bath sheets. Here’s a bath towel vs bath sheet comparison, so you can determine which towel best suits your needs.

BATH TOWELS

Standard bath towels vary in size from manufacturer to manufacture.  Our bath towel is a very generous 30” X 55”. A bath towel is the typical towel that you see pictured in towel racks, often in a double or tri-fold. They’re a good size for kids and adults alike, whether you are towelling down your body after a bath or shower or twisting them around wet hair after washing. They’re absorbent and most-often the go-to towel for most people.

Key buying considerations:

  • Bath towels are less expensive than bath sheets.
  • Bath towels are considered the standard in bath linen sets.
  • Bath towels are highly versatile and can be used to dry off and wrap around your hair.
  • Bath towels easily fit on all towel bars and racks.

BATH SHEETS

Quite simply, a bath sheet is just like a bath towel, except larger — both in length and width. Bath sheets are usually 36” X 66” which means more absorbency and more to wrap around you! If you find that you need two towels to dry off, or that a bath towel just doesn’t cut it for wrapping around your body, then a bath sheet is the way to go. Men like to wrap bath sheets around their waist as they shave. Women often wrap a bath sheet around them while they do their hair or put on make-up.

Key buying considerations:

  • Bath sheets are larger and more absorbent.
  • Bath sheets are usually more expensive, due to size and luxury.
  • Bath sheets are perfect for wrapping around your body, but are too big to wrap around your hair.
  • Bath sheets can be used in standard sized towel bars and racks, but because of their size are more likely to be found hanging from a hook on the back of your bathroom door.
  • Bath sheets will take up more storage space.
How does Turkish cotton compare to Egyptian cotton?

Egyptian cotton is known for its absorbency, which is especially suited for apparel and sheets. However, in towels too much absorbency means that a towel remains wet long after use. Also, towels that are too absorbent tend to become wet in humid climates all by themselves. Turkish cotton provides the perfect balance between absorbency and softness which makes it the best cotton to be used in towels. Turkish cotton, when used in towels, provides maximum absorbency and efficient drying.

There are so many types of towels with different weights, what’s right for me?

Towels really are a personal preference. Some people want a heavier, plusher towel like our Zenith Collection, while others prefer lighter weight towels, like our Kind Earth Collection. We’ve put together a guide to help you here: Towel Guide

Why does the color of the actual product look different from the color shown on the website?

Over the years, we’ve greatly expanded the number of color options of towels we sell. While this means more choices for our customers, it’s also presented some challenges when the color that arrives isn’t quite what you may have expected. In product descriptions, we represent colors with both names and images. We try to use straightforward names for our colors, and for many this works well (e.g., black, navy, light grey, etc.) In other cases, especially within color families, the names can be more subjective (e.g., dusty blue, royal blue, etc). We try to photograph the towel colors as accurately as possible, and yet products displayed on various electronic screens – phones, tablets and computer monitors – will all display color differently, sometimes dramatically so. And finally, no two people perceive color in exactly the same way and may have different ideas of what a particular color “should” look like. We work very hard to ensure our products are displayed as accurately as possible so the color you see in on our website is as close as possible to the color you receive.
