Looking for a bathroom sink that’s elegant, and perhaps a little playful? Look no further than the Lagoon glass basin by Kosta Boda, recently designed by artist and designer Kjell Engman. The handmade basins – available in two designs, with or without a decorative fish – are aquarium inspired.
Engman has used the glass medium to recreate the feel and look of water, complete with bubbles. Add the eye-catching pop of color of the fish, and –voila!– art meets form and function. We’ve got to admit, this basin has us, hook, line and sinker!
Engman’s statement as an artist notes, “In creating a design, I start with the circle of life. I like to make glass you can feel, glass that appeals to all of our senses and tries to make use of refraction and light. I want to paint pictures and tell stories all at the same time.”
The icebox form, with its stepped interior, is so very tactile. It makes you want to touch it and feel the smooth sides. Afraid the little fishy is not your style? No worries, it is available fish-less, and just as beautiful:
Of course, we think some soft, plush Zenith towels would look stunning beside this sink!
