Seher’s Standard

December 4, 2019 / in ,

In the hotel towel manufacturing business there are set standards. Towels made specifically for the hotel industry naturally have to withstand the rigors of industrial laundry conditions. Not only that, but factor in the frequency of washing hotel towels.

However, there are standards and there are Seher’s standard. Co-founder Seher Gürgün, whose family has been weaving towels for four generations, personally oversees the manufacturing process. She sets the bar much higher for the quality, durability and sustainability of our towels.

It starts with the yarn.

Only one yarn is acceptable to us. We only use Turkish cotton from the Aegean region.  This premium cotton is known for its long fibers that result in stronger and smoother threads when the yarn is spun. Turkish cotton is known around the world for its incredible durability. It typically lasts up to twice as long as Egyptian and Pima alternatives.  And, Turkish cotton gets softer, fluffier and more absorbent with successive washings.

Then continues onto how our products are constructed.

The difference is in the attention paid to the weaving, stitching and finishing of all products. All of our towels are double-stitched along the lengths to avoid fraying and for added stability.

And, we inspect our towels four times: After weaving, after dyeing, after stitching and during random spot checks …to ensure that your towel will last and look beautiful, today, tomorrow and for years to come.

And, we don’t stop there. Our towels are good for the planet, and good for people.

All Turkish Towel Company products are certified OEKO-TEX® – an international standard that sets limits on close to 200 potentially harmful substances and chemicals, including phthalates and VOC emissions. With this certification, we can guarantee that our processes are free of harmful heavy metals like lead and arsenic, as well as many allergy-inducing and irritating chemicals.

There are standards… and then there are Seher’s standards.
