Spotlight On: Espresso

One of the more popular colors in our Zenith towels is the Espresso color. So why did we call it Espresso and not just “Dark Brown”? Because we are an online retailer, we like to give our towels color names that have instant color connotations. New Leaf, Butter Cream, Espresso, Cobalt… as you say them, a distinct color is instantly called to mind.

We chose the word Espresso for a variety of reasons; as mentioned, it conjures up a deep, rich brown. It also evokes connotations of urban sophistication (but without pretension) – a little café somewhere, where friends gather to share a bite to eat and a have a coffee. There’s something leisurely, worldly and timeless about it. All essential qualities in a luxury line of classic color towels!

It’s a natural color but also very complex – many simple color wheels don’t include brown. A very down-to-earth color, color psychologists say that brown represents dependability, simplicity and friendliness.

Some Mix & Match Towel Ideas

Because brown is a neutral, it works with so many other colors. Mixing it with Butter Cream adds a warm, inviting look and feel.

Mixing it with New Leaf offers up a sense of nature and the outdoors.

Combining Espresso with Blue Ice brings a sense of refined, hotel elegance.

But what about you? Do you like to mix and match your towel colors from time to time? What are your favorite color combinations?
